Little Lake Possible Jewel
Over the past years, Little Lake in Sunset Park has deteriorated into what some people have called a cesspool and the citizens of Sturgeon Bay wanted this to change. In early 2008, the City of Sturgeon Bay hired GTK Consulting to evaluate, test, recommend city wide changes, and develop plans as to how to fix the problems at Little Lake. Over the last year the City has received money from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to help fund this project, technical group and citizen groups were developed, and four public informational meeting were set up to keep the citizens up to date with the progress of Little Lake. Best management practices and conceptual designs are now available for your review. Final designs plans are being completed, additional funding sources are being located and corrective action should take place in the near future.
