The Park and Recreation Department is located within the Municipal Services Building on 14th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
The office hours of the Park & Recreation Department are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and can be reached by calling 920-746-2914 or through e-mail at the Parks Department.

The Director is responsible for the City parks, docks, marina and farmers market. He also holds the role of City Forester, Harbor Master and Weed Commissioner.
There are approximately 187 acres of land to maintain which consists of 14 parks, nine ball fields, six tennis courts, two launching ramps, an ice skating rink, City waterfront walkways, waterweed maintenance of the Bay of Sturgeon Bay, and two beaches all within the City of Sturgeon Bay.
The maintenance consists of pruning and hedge trimming of greenery, planting flowers, cutting grass, bathroom maintenance, garbage and recycling collection in all parks, playground equipment/bleacher maintenance and general care taking of the City parks.
The Forestry Department is also included in the Parks & Recreation Department. This includes enforcing the City ordinance related to the planting, pruning, and cutting of trees in City right of ways.
The Director is also the City’s Harbor Master and is responsible for authorizing permits for the 95 moorings in the Bay of Sturgeon Bay and the setting of regulatory buoys in the Bay.
The City of Sturgeon Bay Farmers Market is held from the first Saturday in June through the last Saturday in October and runs from 8:30 – 12:00 weekly.
