Public-access television is a form of non-commercial mass media where ordinary people can create content television programming which is through cable TV specialty channels. Public-access television was created in the United States between 1969 and 1971 by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). PEG channels are funded by cable television companies through revenues derived from cable television franchise fees, member fees, grants and contributions.

Sturgeon Bay is proud to broadcast 4 PEG (Public, Education, Government) public access television channels on Charter Cable.

  • Channel 987 features tourism related programming.
  • Channel 989 features community events and information.
  • Channel 988 features government meetings, programs, alerts and contact information.
  • Channel 990 features school meetings, events and information.

Submissions

We welcome community involvement. If you have a video or audio you would like to submit or have an upcoming event or program of community interest that you would like broadcast or taped, please let us know at 920-746-6656 or email us at sbpublicaccess@gmail.com.

We cannot record all events, but we will do our best to give you resources and information on getting your event recorded and up on public access.
